Czech materials engineering meets Japan's decarbonisation push.
Mid-rise CLT and modular construction are accelerating across Japan, driven by the revised Wood Use Promotion Act and the national decarbonisation roadmap. Czech timber producers, structural engineers, façade specialists, and smart-building technology providers bring the technology, the certifications, and – since EXPO 2025 – a built reference at pavilion scale. This Working Group is where those two trajectories meet: with introductions, missions, and certification work already mapped for 2026–2027.
The founding cohort brings together Czech and Japanese companies across the sustainable-construction value chain: timber and CLT producers, structural and facade engineers, smart-building technology providers, and major Japanese contractors. Member names are published with each member's consent. Several founding members contributed to the Czech Pavilion at EXPO 2025 Osaka.
